With 30 years of experience, Dick Kane has been a big data practitioner in many business environments, including: health care, higher education, financial services, packaged goods, distribution, high-tech and multiple start-up ventures.
The foundation of Kane’s career was established at Procter & Gamble (P&G), a Fortune 25 company. Clearly a ‘change agent’ with an ability to drive business results, Kane’s skills have made him an effective leader in other companies such as The Washington Post (Kaplan University), Fidelity Investments and Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing. Kane also has a strong entrepreneurial spirit as he has founded several companies focused on delivery of strategic information services.
V-I-A inc. is Kane’s most recent startup and he is excited to introduce their flagship product at the 2015 FDOT Data Symposium.
Kane has earned a MBA in Operations Management and Logistics, and a BS in Business with honors from Indiana University. He is a committed lifelong learner and has pursued additional education in Leadership, Quality, and Change Management.

Barbara has over 20 years of leadership experience with large (Fortune 50) and small privately held companies with a focus on information technology, telecommunications, and professional services. While at IBM and AT&T, Barbara held executive positions in general management, strategic planning, business operations, marketing and sales. She held Managing Partner, VP of Market Intelligence, and Senior Consultant positions at privately held organizations serving the real estate and healthcare information technology markets. Barbara’s focus has always centered on developing teams, relationship building, customer focused initiatives and messaging that brings results.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in Mathematics, Market Planning workshops from Wharton, Executive development programs at IBM, and a Healthcare Informatics certificate from SPC.
Kathy Jerman specializes in Information Technology Project Management. Her experience spans over 15 years in Fortune 500 companies, mostly in new application development and market launch. She has held roles of increasing responsibility in the PMO, Operations, Implementation, Sales, Finance, Quality Assurance, Production Support, Business Analysis and Client Relations with VeriSign, Verizon, and Transaction Network Services.
Kathy is a graduate of the University of South Florida and also holds Masters' in Project Management from George Washington University and LEAN Six Sigma from Villanova.
Ms. Foster is an accomplished business strategist, systems thinking leader, project manager, public relations communicator, and architect of building cross-functional relationships. She is skilled in critical thinking to clarify issues and solves problems to enhance performance. Experienced in diplomatically developing and maintaining partnerships, and managing teamwork. She has over 30 years of diverse public industry experience matched with partnering with businesses.
